Welcome to the MyBook Heroes’ Privacy Policy

  1. Hello! We are MyBook Heroes (Heroes MyBook Ltd) of 16b Agiou Epifaniou St. #203, Nicosia, Cyprus (“MyBook Heroes”) and you have found our privacy policy. This policy sets out how we handle your personal information if you are a MyBook Heroes client or visitor to our Site. It applies to mybookheroes.com and all of the super cool sites we have coming up (the “Site”)!
  2. When we say ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘MyBook Heroes’ it’s because that’s who we are and we own and run the Site.
  3. If we say ‘policy’ we are talking about this privacy policy. If we say ‘user terms’ we are talking about the rules for using each of the Site. The rules vary by product and each product makes them separately available and seeks consent to them separately to this policy.

 

The type of personal information we collect

  1. This type of information is any data you give us on the Website or via email correspondence with Us, via phone or any other method of communication. This type of data includes any information required to register to use our Website, placing an order, personal details provided to us to customize a product, any other data required to place an order on the Website, data from participation in online discussions, on social media which belongs to Heroes MyBook Limited, data required for surveys, quizzes, competitions or even reporting Website problems. The data may include any or all of the following: name, billing address, email address, shipping address, age, gender, date of birth, username and password, phone number, recipient information, any other registration information.
  2. When you visit our Website we may gather the following information automatically: Products you viewed, purchased products, products you searched for, page errors, downloads, page response time, length of visit and page interaction data, any technical data such as internet protocol (IP), your login information, browser type, time zone, operating systems and platform. Sometimes we might collect data via ads we place on other site.
  3. Payment data will be processed by a third-party processor, Braintree, (a PayPal company) and is not stored on Heroes MyBook servers. Braintree is a validated Level 1 PCI DSS compliant service. We use this data to help us understand what our users want, process purchase orders, optimize our Site to offer you a better experience and  and to effectively place future ads.

 

How we collect personal information

  1. We collect personal information directly when you provide it to us, automatically as you navigate through the Site, or through other services such as social media site and search engines when you use such services that are linked back to our site.
  2. We collect your personal information when you provide it to us when you complete shipping information and buy or provide items or services on our Site, subscribe to a newsletter, email list, submit feedback, enter a contest, fill out a survey, or send us communication.

 

Personal information we collect about you from others

  1. Although we generally collect personal information directly from you, on occasion, we also collect certain categories of personal information about you from other sources. In particular:
    1. Confirmation of payment details, which includes information you placed on our website while making a purchase, amount you spent during your purchase, payment type ( i.e Visa, American Express etc) and whether the transaction has been settled or declined, from Braintree ( a Paypal Company) located in the UK.
  1. third party service providers (like Google, Facebook) who are located in the US or UK, which may provide information about you when you link, connect, or login to your account with the third party provider and they send us information such as your registration and profile from that service. The information varies and is controlled by that service provider or as authorized by you via your privacy settings at that service provider; and

 

How we use personal information

We will use your personal information:

  1. To fulfil orders placed on our website, and to fulfil shipping requests.
    1. Where it is deemed necessary for purposes which are in our, or third parties, legitimate interests. These interests include:
      1. operating the Site;
      2. providing you with services described on the Site; such as ordering a product.
      3. verifying your identity when you sign in to our Site;
      4. responding to support tickets, and helping facilitate the resolution of any disputes;
      5. updating you with operational news and information about our Site and services e.g. to notify you about changes to our Site, website disruptions or security updates;

When we disclose your personal information

  1. We might disclose general information, which includes information that cannot identify you personally to the following services or companies:
    1. companies that are in the MyBook Heroes group which are located in Cyprus; (currently there are no other companies attached to us, and in the event we merge or cooperate with another company we will update our policy to reflect that)
    2. subcontractors and service providers who assist us in connection with the ways we use personal information (as set out above), in particular: website hosting providers (Azure); marketing and analytics services (Google Analytics) which are
    3. regulators and government authorities in connection with our compliance procedures and obligations;
    4. a purchaser or prospective purchaser of all or part of our assets or our business, and their professional advisers, in connection with the purchase;
    5. other recipients where we are authorised or required by law to do so.

 

Where we transfer and/or store your personal information

We are based in Cyprus and we use Azure Servers located in the Netherlands, and Braintree Services for payment processing located in the UK.

 

How we keep your personal information secure

We store personal information on secure servers provided by Azure services, and occasionally hard copy files that are kept in a secure location in Cyprus. Personal information that we store or transmit is protected by security and access controls, including username and password authentication, two-factor authentication, and data encryption where appropriate.

 

How you can access your personal information

  1. You also have the right to make a request to access other personal information we hold about you and to request corrections of any errors in that data.
  2. You can also request ‘the right to be forgotten’ and / or close the account you have with us any time. To make an access or correction request, contact our DPO at info@mybookheroes.com. You need to allow us up to a month to respond and process the request.
  3. We are in the process to update our engine to allow you to opt out of from any non-essential information you do not want us to keep. In the meantime please use our DPO email address as seen above to send us a request.

 

Marketing Choices regarding your personal information

Where we have your consent to do so (e.g. if you have subscribed to one of our e-mail lists or have indicated that you are interested in receiving offers or information from us), we send you marketing communications by email about products and services that we feel may be of interest to you. You can ‘opt-out’ of such communications if you would prefer not to receive them in the future by using the “unsubscribe” facility provided in the communication itself.

The information we retain will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

  1. We will need to change this policy from time to time in order to make sure it stays up to date with the latest legal requirements and any changes to our privacy management practices.
  2. When we do change the policy, we’ll make sure to notify you about such changes, where required. A copy of the latest version of this policy will always be available on this page.
